Below you can see proposals for a 6-day onboarding and team-building program for the new developers. We recommend a minimum of 3 days and the program can then be adjusted based on the 6-day programme.
Arrival from the airport and transport to the hotel.
10.00-11.00: Welcome meeting at the hotel with the Norwegian team.
11.30-13.00: Welcome meeting with new developers to go over the onboarding plan and expectations.
14.00-15.30: Presentation of the company’s history, culture, values and goals.
16.00-17.30: Introduction to the team and key people in the project.
Evening: Welcome dinner at a local restaurant to strengthen relationships and start the onboarding week in a relaxed way.
09.00-10.30: Deeper dive into project details, including architecture, technologies and planned development.
11.00-12.30: Presentation of the code base and important development tools. Afternoon and
evening: Free time for personal activities or exploring Lisbon.
09.00-11.00: Guided city walk in Lisbon to get to know the city’s history and culture.
12.00-16.00: Optional surfing activity to experience Portugal’s world-famous waves and team building. Afternoon and
evening: Free time for personal activities or exploring Lisbon.
09.00-10.30: Workshop on collaboration methods and processes in the project.
11.00-16.00: Presentation of development methodology (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) and how the team collaborates.
09.00-10.30: In-depth lecture on the key technologies used in the project.
11:00-16:00: Review of code quality, development standards and best practices.
09.00-10.30: Summary of the week and reflection on learning.
11.00-12.30: Discussion about the way forward, including plans for further training, mentorship and career development.
13.30-15.00: Farewell lunch or dinner to celebrate successful onboarding and strengthened team spirit.
15.30-17.00: Presentation of information material and resources to support the new developer in the future.
Afternoon/evening: Departure to Norway to start the next phase of your journey.
